Congratulations! If you have completed the PEI Instruction Driver’s Permit - Class 7 and the PEI Class 5 - Stage 2 phase of the PEI GDL program, you are well on your way to getting the full, unrestricted PEI Class 5 driver’s license and becoming a safe, fully qualified Prince Edward Island passenger vehicle driver. Make sure you always refer back to the PEI Driver's Handbook if you ever have any questions or concerns, and stay aware of changes in driving laws in PEI. A PEI Class 5 driver’s license comes with a lot of responsibility, including maintaining adequate PEI auto insurance, and having the appropriate documentation in place for the vehicle you are driving.
Practice safe driving for 1 year with your Class 5 Stage 2 licence → Class 5 Stage 3 Licence
The Class 5 Stage 3 drivers license is the final stage of passenger vehicle licensing in PEI. At this stage, drivers move out of the PEI graduated driver licensing program to get a full PEI Class 5 driver’s license. You should be able to get your Class 5 level 3 licence after 1 year of safe driving and complying with the license restrictions at the PEI Class 5 Level 2 stage.
