Newfoundland Population by Age Group
According to the Census Profile, 2016 Census data, the population of Newfoundland in 2016 was 519,716 people, an increase of one percent from the previous 2011 Census data which recorded 514,536 inhabitants. Of these, 253,930 individuals were males and 265,790 were female. Unsurprisingly, the vast majority (344,245) were between the ages of 15 and 64, with 74,440 under the age of 15 and 101,025 people being over the age of 65. Interestingly, only 90 individuals were 100 years old or older. While the population increased only slightly during this period, insurance products like various kinds of life insurance, travel insurance, dental insurance, health insurance coverage and even pet insurance for animal members of the family continue to be in relatively high demand.
