Class 7 Learner License

• You must be 15 years or older
• If you under the age of 18 you must get parent/guardian approval
• Visit a licensing office to pass a vision test and a written knowledge test about the rules of the road and traffic signs

• Maintain zero blood alcohol level at all times
• You much always be accompanied with a supervising driver who has been suspension free for at least 2 years
• Must display a student sign in the vehicle which is visible to all drivers approaching from behind
• May not drive between the hours of midnight and 5 am

6 months

Class 5 Novice License

• You must be 16 years old
• Have held a Class 7 license for a minimum of 6 months and completed the 50 mandatory driving hours
• Have successfully passed a Yukon road test

• Maintain zero blood alcohol level at all times
• Must be accompanied by a fully licensed co-driver between the hours of midnight and 5 am

18 months

Class 5 Non-Probationary License

• Have been suspension free for the 18 months of the Novice Class 5 license period
• Once the above condition has been met you can apply for fully Class 5 license and drive with full driving privileges
