Class 7 Learner License

How to get your Class 7 License
  • You must be 15 years or older
  • If you under the age of 18 you must get parent/guardian approval
  • Visit a licensing office to pass a vision test and a written knowledge test about the rules of the road and traffic signs
Rules to abide by when driving with a Class 7 license
  • Maintain zero blood alcohol level at all times
  • Must drive with a fully licensed driver, who has a minimum of 24 months experience with a full Class 5 license
  • Must display a student sign in the vehicle which is visible to all drivers approaching from behind
  • May not drive between the hours of 11pm to 6am

12 months

Probationary (Class 5) License

How to get your Probationary License
  • You must be 16 years or older
  • Have held a Class 7 license for a minimum of 12 month
  • Pass the standard Province Class 5 road test
Rules to abide by when driving with a Probationary (Class 5) License
  • Maintain zero blood alcohol level at all times
  • Must be accompanied by a fully licensed co-driver between the hours of 11pm and 6am
  • Cannot serve as an accompanying driver to a learner

Non-Probationary (Class 5) License

How to get your Non-Probationary (Class 5) License
  • You must be 17 years or older
  • Have fewer than 6 demerit points in order to apply for the Class 5 license and obtain full driving privilege
