Class 5 Learner License

How to get your Class 5 Learner license
  • You must be 16 years or a minimum of 15 years 6 months if you have enrolled in a Ministry approved driver education course
  • Have parent/guardian consent if you are under the age of 18
  • Visit a licensing office to pass a vision test and a written knowledge test about the rules of the road and traffic signs.
Rules to abide by when driving with a Class 5 Learner license
  • Maintain zero blood alcohol level at all times
  • Always be accompanied by a Class 5 fully licensed driver who has at least 3 years of driving experience with a full Class 5 license
  • Refrain from driving between midnight and 5:00 am

Class 5 Intermediate License

How to get your Class 5 intermediate license

After holding a Class 5 intermediate license for 9 months a Class 5 road test can be completed. Upon successful completion of this road test a class 5 intermediate license is issued

15 months

Class 5 Full License

How to get your Class 5 license

Upon completing 15 months in the Class 5 Intermediate level drivers are graduated to the full license stage and are allowed full driving privileges
